He said that he accepted the role of the hero in Bhairavi after remembering
NTR’s movie Patal Bhairavi. He explained that he got into films by taking
NTR as his inspiration. He said that he was surprised to see the role of
NTR Duryodhana in many films. Rajinikanth recalled that in 1977 he acted in
the film Tiger with NTR.
“NTR had a lot of influence on me. At that time, I used to imitate NTR
with a club. I wanted to be like NTR in Danaveerasurakarna. Once I put on
makeup like NTR and showed it to my friend, and he said I looked like a
monkey. Then I felt… It’s not for me to be like NTR! NTR was
disciplined.” Rajinikanth explained. Hindupuram MLA and film actor
Nandamuri Balakrishna said that a light that was lit hundreds of years ago
brought glory to the Telugu nation for a thousand years.
Inaugurating the NTR centenary celebrations was held grandly in
Vijayawada. Balakrishna spoke in this program. He said that NTR has brought
identity so that they can proudly say that they are Telugu. He said that a
new history has been created by taking initiatives for the welfare of NTR.
Family members of Chandrababu, Rajinikanth, Balakrishna and Nandamuri
participated in this centenary celebrations.
Earlier, Rajinikanth also reached Gannavaram to participate in the
inauguration of NTR centenary celebrations. Rajinikanth was welcomed by
Balakrishna who reached the airport. He thanked Rajinikanth for coming to
NTR’s centenary launch event.
