Prior to this, three further humanitarian ships pleaded with Rome for a
safe port, and Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi declared that those who
do not “qualify” would have to “leave territorial seas.”
Between them, the Ocean Viking, Geo Barents, and Rise Above are
transporting 900 migrants.
