Russia has announced that it is pulling its troops out of a strategic city in Ukraine.

In what would be one of the most critical and humiliating setbacks for
Moscow’s forces in the 8-month-long war, the Russian military declared
Wednesday that it is leaving the sole Ukrainian regional capital it has
occupied.

Authorities in Ukraine have warned against prematurely declaring victory
over Russian-controlled forces in Kherson and the surrounding area.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that the Russians are
pretending to withdraw from Kherson to draw the Ukrainian army into a
stalemated battle to control the critical industrial port city.
