While Imelda Staunton is always a pleasure to watch, the new season of The Crown doesn’t have the same artistic flair as the previous ones.

Season five of The Crown opens with a look at the show’s history. A
flashback of Claire Foy’s Queen Elizabeth launching the Royal Yacht
Britannia is shown. It eventually fades into Imelda Staunton’s Queen
Elizabeth (Imelda Staunton), who is now 65 years old and undergoing a
medical check-up. The similarities between the monarch and her famous
palace, the Britannia, are explored at various moments. Like the condition
of Britannia, which required some repairs to stay afloat, the monarchy was
set to have its shape rebuilt. The fifth season focuses on the fissures
appearing in the royal family before Princess Diana and Prince Charles
split.
