After India’s humiliating withdrawal from the T20 World Cup on Thursday,
former cricketers Shane Watson and Nasser Hussain criticized India’s
“timid” batting technique.

With strong half-centuries from Alex Hales and Jos Buttler, England crushed
India by 10 wickets.

As they did in the Group Stage, India batted cautiously in the powerplay,
scoring only 38 runs in the first six overs, while England scored 63 runs
simultaneously.

India tried a more aggressive batting strategy in the lead-up to the T20
World Cup, but players like Rohit Sharma and K L Rahul flopped under
pressure.
