India will play host to the 2023 Women’s World Boxing Championships after an agreement was made between BFI President Ajay Singh and IBA President Kremlev.

This is a historic event for boxing: India will be the site of the 2023 IBA
Women’s World Boxing Championship. On Wednesday, the International Boxing
Association (IBA) and the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) announced their
formal partnership during a press conference in New Delhi, where IBA
President Umar Kremlev and BFI President Ajay Singh signed the Memorandum
of Understanding (MoU). Also present was current world champion Nikhat
Zareen.

President Kremlev is making his first trip ever to India. Kremlev has
expanded the sport internationally since he assumed office in 2020.
