his family on Tuesday informing them that he has broken his hunger strike.
The family said in a statement that Laila Soueif, Abdel-mother, Fattah’s
received a brief note written in her son’s handwriting from prison
officials. It is dated this coming Monday. In it, he invites her to join
him on Thursday for their regular visitation in jail.
I have ended my strike. On Thursday, I’ll go through everything,” the
letter stated. It was unclear why he penned the letter in the first place.
The activist had earlier declared that if he wasn’t freed, he would be
ready to die during his strike.
