After the Indian cricket team lost in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup
in Australia on Friday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)
fired the four-member senior national selection committee led by Chetan
Sharma.
During Chetan’s tenure, India lost the final of the World Test
Championships and did not get past the group stage of the T20 World Cup in
2021.
The most recent senior national selectors with the shortest tenures were
Chetan (North zone), Harvinder Singh (Centra zone), Sunil Joshi (South
zone), and Debasish Mohanty (East zone). They were appointed in two groups,
one in 2020 and the other in 2021.
