Ayushmann Khurrana said, “Our country is homophobic,” in response to the failure of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.

Ahlawat, is now being promoted. Khurram spoke against the commercial
failure of his recent films, like Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, saying, “Our
country is homophobic.” In a roundtable interview with the media, Ayushmann
reportedly said, “First, I watched films about controversial topics. The
youngsters have been watching it too, so it must be OK for a large group
and feature a wide range of topics. Unfortunately, our country is
homophobic; hence none of my recent films have done well at the box office.
This includes an LGBTQ film (Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui).”
