On Thursday, the prosecution in the Los Angeles trial of Harvey Weinstein,
accused of raping two women and sexually assaulting two others, concluded
its case.
After nearly four weeks of testimony from 44 witnesses, Deputy District
Attorney Paul Thompson decided to press through with the motion.
One was a model, another was a model and actress, and the fourth was a
massage therapist; all four were victims of alleged sexual misconduct by
Weinstein.
Most of the trial’s drama has come from the testimony of the fourth
witness, documentary director Jennifer Siebel Newsom, who was an actor at
the time of her alleged rape and is now married to California Governor
Gavin Newsom.
