Aftab Amin Poonawalla’s detention in police custody was prolonged on
Tuesday for an additional four days (November 22, 2022). For the first time
since the investigation of the Delhi riots, the Delhi Police have assembled
their largest team to date specifically for this murder case. The Delhi
Police have assigned 200 personnel to this investigation. This crew has
been looking into this for 100 hours now. Nearly twenty-four investigators
from the premier forensics facility in the country are currently on the
scene. Five states have contributed to the investigation into the Shraddha
murder case, including Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and
Uttarakhand. A massive search effort is underway, including combing across
mountains, ponds, and forests.
