Greek police announced on Tuesday that they had successfully brought to
port an old fishing boat filled to capacity with hundreds of migrants that
had lost its steering and had been drifting in the wind-whipped
Mediterranean Sea south of the Greek island of Crete.
At first, Greek Migration Minister Notis Mitarachi estimated that there
were 500 individuals on board. He has since revised that number down to
400. When asked where it had set sail, he responded it was unclear.
