Friday saw the publication of Jammu and Kashmir’s final electoral roll,
which had the highest-ever addition of more than 7.72 lakh voters,

and Kashmir Anil Salgotra, there are 83,59,771 electors on the final
electoral roll, including 42,91,687 men, 40,67,900 women, and 184
third-gender voters. The publication of the electoral register opens the
door for the first Assembly elections to be held in a Union Territory since
the provisions of Article 370 was repealed, and Jammu and Kashmir were
divided into Union territories in 2019.
