The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is trying to use the fact that Delhi Deputy Chief
Minister Manish Sisodia’s name was left off the first charge sheet filed by
the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Excise
Policy scam as a campaign issue in the upcoming Municipal Corporation of
Delhi (MCD) elections.
The Excise Policy scandal and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP)
claims of widespread irregularities inside it have often been traced back
to Manish Sisodia. While the CBI filed a charge sheet, his name did not
appear anywhere.
