Clash between Argentina and France

One of the two changes made to the France roster for Sunday’s World Cup
final against Lionel Messi and Argentina, who have Angel Di Maria coming
into the side, is that Adrien Rabiot is back in the lineup after missing
time due to sickness. As a result of getting a virus that had similarly
impacted the health of the other members of the French team, the midfielder
Rabiot and the centre-back Dayot Upamecano were not selected to play for
France during their semifinal victory over Morocco. However, the coach,
Didier Deschamps, has decided to put both of them back into the starting
lineup. In their place, Youssouf Fofana and Ibrahima Konate have been
replaced. Raphael Varane, who was absent from training on Friday due to
symptoms similar to a cold, will be able to play for France, although the
rest of the starting lineup has not been altered. In the meantime, Olivier
Giroud will continue to start for France in the attack alongside Kylian
Mbappe on the left side of the field, despite rumours that Mbappe would
instead play in the centre of the area and Marcus Thuram would take the
space.
