President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Tourism Facilitation Centre at an estimated Rs.43.08 cr under Central government Prasad Scheme at Nandi Circle in Srisailam in Nandyal district on Monday. After having darshan of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bramarambika temples, the President inaugurated the Tourism Facilitation Centre.
As part of Prasad scheme amenity centres at Hatakeswaram and Sikhareswaram , renovation of Pushkarini, Road towards Patalaganga from Bus stand, Sound and Light Show, Food Court, Digital Intervention , Parking Scheme and facilities will be part of the project to provide more facilities for the devotees at Srisailam temple town.
Union Tourism Minister Kishan Reddy and Indian Tourism secretary Aravind Singh, AP Tourism MD and CEO Kannababu briefed over the Prasad scheme being implemented by the centre across all parts of the country and implementing at Srisailam.
As part of the President’s visit, the police intensified combing with GreyHound teams and tightened security in and around Srisailam. Both Telangana and AP police were at bandobast. Though chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was about to welcome the President, sources said he was scheduled to visit Delhi on December 28 and the state ministers were represented on behalf of the chief minister to receive the President.
In the view of President Droupadi Murmu darshan at the temple, the Srisailam temple authorities have stopped darshan for devotees till 3 PM and resumed darshan and sevas after the President’s visit in the temple.
The president reached Sunnipenta Helipad at 4 pm where the Union Minister Kishan Reddy and state ministers Buggana Rajendranath Reddy , RK Roja and other leaders and officials sent off the President and TS Governor.
