BIHAR. At least five foreigners who were devotees and came toIndia to attend the Dalai Lama’s sermons in Bodh Gaya, have tested positive for covid-19 on Monday.
Bihar health officials revealed that about 33 foreign nationals were tested at the Gaya airport. Five of them have tested covid positive. All the persons are from Thailand and Myanmar.
The Health authorities sounded to alert over five positive cases at Bodh Gaya tourists. Dalai Lama’s sermons are on going at Bodh Gaya and big number of Buddists and devotees taking part.
In addition, a British woman in Kolkata has been quarantined after she developed symptoms of covid-19, officials said.
HEALTH – Mock drill across the country
The Union Health Ministry has announced that mock drills will be conducted in all states and Union Territories on Tuesday to prepare for covid-19. The mock drills will identify the availability of resources, isolation, oxygen, number of ICU beds, availability of ventilators, doctors and staff in hospitals in all districts.
About 196 new cases of Covid-19 reported in India and there are currently 3,428 active cases, the Centre said.
The karnataka government made masks mandatory in the state. Bengaluru’s MG Road has made masks mandatory for New Year celebrations. Pregnant women should not participate in the celebrations.
