hypertension and diabetes.Lifestyle diseases are very common among urban people. A study has found
that people living in rural regions are comparatively healthier as compared
to those living in urban areas because of a sedentary and stressful
lifestyle. This goes true also for women who might be homemakers or
career-oriented.
Women who work in offices have to spend a lot of time in chairs and hence,
get little or almost no physical activity throughout the day. That is why
they are more prone to lifestyle diseases like hypertension, type II
diabetes, and more.
there are a few healthcare measures that every urban woman must follow to
prevent lifestyle diseases.
01 Even though the morning hours are stressful and hectic, you should never
leave home without taking breakfast. Plan it before going to bed a day
before as it will ensure that you get all those essential nutrients,
proteins, and high fibre that is so essential to keep you energised and
full till your lunchtime. More importantly, it will stop you from indulging
in roadside junk foods when hungry.
02 You must exercise daily. Be it just a 15-minute fast workout or a
30-minute walk in the park or anything that you think can be managed in
your tight schedule including yoga, aerobics, Zumba, and so on, just make
sure that you get that daily kick of physical high intense activity every
day. Apart from that try to keep yourself active all through the day by
taking the stairs whenever possible, keeping your water bottle a few steps
away from your desk so that you have to get up for it on regular basis, and
so on.
03 Many times while working for long hours in an air-conditioned office you
just fail to drink an adequate amount of water because you just do not feel
thirsty. Even then you must drink around 8 to 10 glasses of water daily –
so that your body stays hydrated.
04 . After a hectic day, you need at least 6 to 8 hours of sound sleep.
Have a proper schedule for sleeping and waking up so that your body gets
the required rest so essential for its healing and relaxation.
