Andhra Pradesh (AP) Chief Minister (CM) Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set
to lay the foundation stone for a new fishing harbor in Nellore district on
May 15, 2023. The project is expected to boost the state’s fishing industry
and provide better facilities to fishermen. The proposed harbor will have a
capacity to accommodate around 1,000 boats and will be equipped with modern
amenities such as cold storage, ice plant, auction hall, and a fish
processing unit. The estimated cost of the project is around Rs. 300 crore
and it is expected to be completed in the next two years. The new fishing
harbor is expected to create employment opportunities for the local youth
and boost the state’s economy.
