Jimmy Kimmel on Will Smith Slapgate at 2023 Oscars: “It has to come up.”

Comedian and American talk show presenter Jimmy Kimmel has discussed the
issues and gaffes he plans to address as host of the 95th Academy Awards in
March 2023. Mr. Kimmel predicted in a recent interview that the infamous
Will Smith-Chris Rock issue will be discussed.

He told Extra, “It’s got to come up in some way.” “I don’t want to make
light of it because comedians are angry about it, but it’s a serious issue.
It’s not hilarious, you know, and that’s coming from a group of individuals
that find everything humorous. Of course, though, you will need to. I had
to note the previous year’s Oscars emcee reading the erroneous winner
because it happened again.”
