Rohit Sharma’s Team India defeated Pakistan in their first match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 by four wickets. The match went right now the wire and in the end India secured a win on the last ball. With this win India broke Australia’s record of winning most international matches across format in a calender year. India’s four-wicket win was its 39th win across all matches this year, going past its previous best of 37 victories in 2017. The Men in Blue broke Australia’s record of 38 wins in 2003 where Ricky Ponting’s men won 30 ODIs and eight Tests.
In the T20 World Cup and after that in the bilateral series, India is set to play at least 10 international matches.
