The covid-19 surge in China continues as China’s new year’s lunar is near and citizens are worried with the rise in cases every day. The city of Zhejiang, near Shanghai, was reporting over 10 lakh covid-19 positive cases a day. Social media videos of worse situation were viral as people were struggling to get medical aide and long queues of dead bodies at cemeteries.
Including major cities, in hospitals in smaller towns, there are no beds available even for serious cases. Deaths due to pneumonia and breathing difficulties are on the rise.

Yao Ruan, a woman from southeastern Beijing, is struggling to get her mother-in-law admitted to a hospital after she tested positive for Covid-19. Every hospital in Hebei province revolved around. the bed is not available.
According to reports, his mother-in-law had pneumonia due to Covid. The situation appears similar in most hospitals in Shanghai and Beijing cities. As no beds available, patients are being treated on benches and on the floor. Several hospitals in Zhouzhou city are treating patients on the floor in corridors, and patients are struggling to breathe.
A spokesman for the Associated Press (AP) news agency said there were no conditions to provide electricity or oxygen. The conditions in hospitals and cemeteries are grim.There is a rush of tens of thousands of ambulances on the roads, with some hospitals heading towards it. A few others are said to be heading towards cremation grounds.
In cities and major towns, the queue system at crematoriums continues. Citizens are moving their bodies to crematoriums in rural areas, 20-100 kilometres away for their last rites.
The industrial province of Zhejiang, near Shanghai announced that the number of daily cases is at 1 million, and expressed concern that the number could rise further in the coming days, Reuters reported.
Qingdao and Dongyun cities are also witnessing a rise in daily cases. China’s National Health Commission has launched a special drive to vaccinate elderly people over the age of 60.
