In a first for the world, orcas were seen killing blue whales and devouring their tongues.

The world’s largest animal, the blue whale, has been seen for the first
time being hunted and killed by a herd of orcas, often known as killer
whales.
According to a paper published in Marine Mammal Science, the scientific
community has long argued over whether orcas can hunt the enormous blue
whales.
But when three cases of packs of orcas attacking blue whales off the coast
of Western Australia were documented by marine biologists from Center WA,
this question has now been resolved (Cetacean Research). It contains
information on how the killer whales entered the massive whales’ mouths to
consume their nutrient-rich tongues shortly before they passed away.
