Prosecutors in Tokyo have reportedly detained the man who co-created the
Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise on charges of insider trading.
According to a prosecution document seen by AFP, 57-year-old programmer
Yuji Naka was arrested on Friday. Naka is best known for his work on Sonic
and other vital titles at the Japanese game company Sega.
According to the document released by the Tokyo District Prosecutors
Office, Naka’s alleged wrongdoing occurred nearly three years ago while he
was working at Square Enix, the company responsible for creating “Final
Fantasy.”
