Maintaining and strengthening ties between Netanyahu and Erdogan of Turkey.

During a phone discussion on Thursday, the president of Turkey and the
upcoming prime minister of Israel vowed to keep working to strengthen
connections between their countries.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presided over a chill in
ties between Turkey and the Jewish state. At this point, he is poised to
lead Israel’s most conservative government ever.

Ties between the two countries had begun to repair under outgoing Prime
Minister Yair Lapid, who had met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip
Erdogan in New York in September. This had been the first meeting between
the two leaders in 14 years.
