Nepal has blacklisted 16 Indian pharmaceutical companies including Pathanjali.

The decision was taken by Nepal Government in the wake of World Health
Organization warnings that children have died from cough syrup in African
countries. In this extent, Nepal Medicines Authority has released the
list of details of blacklisted companies and 16 among them from India.
However, famous yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s company Divya Pharmacy also
included in blacklist.
Divya Pharmacy company manufactures products under the Patanjali
brand name.
The list issued by the Drug Regulatory Authority includes the names of
Radiant Parenterals Limited, Mercury Laboratories Limited, Alliance
Biotech, Captab Biotech, Aglomet Limited, Zee Laboratories Limited,
Daffodils Pharmaceuticals Limited, Yeljual Pharmaceuticals Limited. Also,
the names of big companies like Concept Pharmaceuticals, Anand Life
Sciences Limited, IPCA Laboratories Limited, Cadila Healthcare Limited,
Dial Pharmaceuticals, Aglomed Limited, Macur Laboratories Limited are also
in the list.
Nepal officials claimed that the companies had failed to comply with
the standards set by the World Health Organization.
