launched by Prince William to help solve some of the world’s most serious
environmental concerns, have been announced.
Some examples are the Kenyan Mukuru Clean Stoves, which use a fuel mixture
of charcoal, wood, and sugarcane to reduce air pollution by 70%, and the
Indian Feather, a sustainable alternative to plastic manufactured from
flower waste.
At a glamorous awards ceremony on December 2 in Boston, the five winners
will be announced, and they will each get a prize of £1 million (about
$1.12 million). Global organizations and philanthropic donations support
the initiative, and the organizers claim that by 2030, at least 50 ideas
will have been funded by the project to tackle environmental concerns.
