A 21-year-old fashion designing student of a reputable university in New Town was allegedly raped by a classmate first after a friends’ party last month and then allegedly forced to have sex on multiple occasions against her consent with him in the last one month till she finally gathered courage to lodge a complaint last Saturday.
Acting on the complaint, officers of Techno City police station in New Town arrested the youth from his home at Kanchrapara on Sunday.
He was produced before a Barrackpore court on Monday and remanded in judicial custody.
The two students were long-time friends and had attended multiple parties in the last few years, cops said. According to the complaint, they were at a similar party with 10 other friends at a flat inside a residential complex in New Town on September 17 when she got very drunk and the friend offered to drop her home.
