On Saturday, Indian Army Chief Manoj Pande said, “The gap between what the
Chinese say and what they actually accomplish is widely known. It’s
intrinsic to who they are as people. Their behavior matters more than what
is written or spoken by them.” While speaking at Delhi’s ‘Chanakya
Dialogues,’ a think tank, he made the following remarks: “Eastern Ladakh is
“stable but unpredictable” as the border dispute with China drags on. Gen.
Pande said that India is hopeful that the outstanding issues may be
resolved in the next round of talks when asked about the future of
high-level military negotiations between India and China.
He said that a date for the 17th round of discussions is being considered.
When asked about the current situation along the Line of Actual Control in
eastern Ladakh, he stated that the PLA has not significantly reduced its
force levels.
