PRESIDENTDesires are not enough to reach the goal, need to work hard by spending at least 10 hours a day to attain targets, President Droupdi Murmu advised the chenchu (tribal) students from Srisailam Tribal area at Shivaji Spoorthi Centre in Srisailam on Monday. Droupadi Murmu had visited Shivaji Spoorthi Centre, a part of historic asset and memory. Shivaji who had visited Srisailam,Spoorthi Centre president TG Venkatesh and team offered grand welcome following tribal students with their traditional Chencu dance.
President and TS Governor had offered prayers at Goddess Bhavani and also floral tributes to Maratha Emperor Shivaji statue at the centre.
On the occasion, President Droupadi Murmu interacted with tribal women and students over their present lifestyle and facilities. During interaction, tribal girls told the President about their goals like to serve tribals after becoming collector, doctor, police officer and other key posts. Appreciating the girl students, she stressed the need to concentrate on studies at least 10 hours a day to reach targets. President also enquired about their family conditions and whether cooperation from parents to send them to schools and colleges.
“You will definitely have support from the governments’ ‘, she assured.
Similarly, the President asked the tribal woman from Chenchu Gudems to avail the government schemes to get uplift of families in all ways.
Gangamma, Venkatamma, Bramarambha and U.Gangamma among tribal women explained about their vows. “The government gave 10,153 acres of ROFR lands for 3223 Chenchu families in Srisailam area, but still facing objections from the forest department to get electricity and drilling of bore wells for agriculture”. They pleaded with the President to clear hurdles and also sanction 6000 new houses as the old houses under PMAY constructed 15 years ago were in worse condition.
President asked about the government welfare schemes for the tribals and directed them to care for the children by providing education.
