Due to a lack of suitable replacement market space, traders have returned to the streets of Khamla.

On Friday, authorities cleared the street market from the London/Orange
City Street Project without offering the vendors a new location. Vegetable
and fruit sellers and those peddling poultry, fish, and mutton were all
back in business on the same streets by Sunday. Prakash Bhoyar, a former
BJP corporator, has defended the council’s decision, arguing that the
sellers should band together to buy Rs110 crore worth of NMC land and set
up shop there.
