Egypt’s president will attend Republic Day celebrations in India as the prime minister’s guest in 2023.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed on Sunday that Egypt’s
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi would be the featured speaker at next year’s
Republic Day festivities in January (November 27, 2022). On October 16,
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar delivered a formal invitation from
Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), “upon the invitation
of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi,” Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al
Sisi will be India’s Chief Guest during Republic Day celebrations on
January 26, 2023.
