On Friday, police said they arrested a 20-year-old woman and her boyfriend
on charges of murder in connection with the apparent plot to “avenge” the
suicide of the lady’s parents by killing the woman’s relatives. In Greater
Noida, at the home of the accused,, Payal Bhati, a body was discovered with
the face damaged by boiling oil. Bhati’s signature was detected on a
suicide note near the body. After an accident at home left her face
disfigured with scorching mustard oil, the message stated a police source
said the girl felt the “world would not accept her,,” and hence felt
compelled to take the extreme step of killing herself.
