the northeastern state to be a must-see for tourists from all over the
globe. The Sangai, a type of deer unique to Manipur, inspired the
festival’s name. While virtually present, Prime Minister Narendra Modi
commended the people of Manipur on the well-executed event. He noted that
the event was delayed by two years because of the Covid-19 outbreak, and he
was pleased by the extensive preparations.
