Repudiated former Australian captain Tim Paine has accused South Africa of
ball manipulation during the controversial Test series in 2018.
One Test after the Australian squad was found guilty of the same, Paine
writes in his autobiography The Paid Price that he saw a South African
player “have a great crack” at the ball in Johannesburg.
Cameron Bancroft’s use of sandpaper to shine the ball in the third Test
match of the infamous 2018 Cape Town Test was caught on camera by
broadcasters, leading to one-year bans for captain Steve Smith and alleged
co-conspirator David Warner and the resignation of coach Darren Lehmann
