Team India’s batting will be bolstered with the return of Rohit Sharma for
the second Test against Bangladesh beginning on December 22 in Mirpur,
where India won the previous match by 188 runs.
India won the first Test without Rohit, powered by KL Rahul, by an innings
and 188 runs in Chattogram on Sunday.
After breaking his left thumb while fielding in the second one-day
international against Bangladesh in Mirpur on December 7, Rohit returned to
India. Abhimanyu Easwaran has replaced him. But Rahul stated that
information on Rohit’s availability for the second Test would be out in a
day or two.
At the postgame press conference, Rahul remarked, “About Rohit, we may be
able to know (his situation) in the next day or two, although I am not
aware of it.”
Rahul praised the team’s all-around effort and cohesiveness after their
first Test victory over Bangladesh.
“The contrast was striking. For both the batting and bowling, we were
outstanding. Additionally, we made the most of our opportunities on the
field—the road to victory in Test matches. Every format has the same rule:
no more than two players can win a game. “That’s what he had to say, he
clarified.
