last over. Russell was out in that over and 2 runs were needed off the last
ball. Rinku Singh hit a four off that ball by Arshadeep Singh and Kolkata
rang the bell. Kolkata Knight Riders chased down the target of 180 runs by
5 wickets in 20 overs.
Rinku Singh was unbeaten with 21 runs off 10 balls. Russell scored 42 runs
off 23 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes and played a vital role in the team’s
victory.
Earlier, captain Nitish Rana scored 51 runs and opener Jason Roy scored 31
runs in the Kolkata innings. Among Punjab Kings bowlers, Rahul Chahar took
2 wickets, Nathan Ellis 1, Harpreet Brar took 1 wicket. With this victory,
Kolkata Knight Riders have moved up to the fifth position in the points
table. Punjab Kings are at the seventh position.
