Capitals. This time they beat Delhi Capitals by 9 runs on their home at
the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Sunrisers won the toss and scored 197
runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Delhi Capitals lost by
scoring only 188 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.
At one stage, seeing the boom of Mitchell Marsh and Phil Salt, the victory
of Delhi Capitals seemed very easy. Marsh scored 63 runs in 39 balls with
1 four and 6 sixes… Salt scored 59 runs in 35 balls with 9 fours.
However, Delhi’s run flow was hampered by timely bowling by Sunrisers’
spinners. In this sequence, the Delhi team lost wickets immediately. In
the last over, Delhi needed 26 runs in 6 balls, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar
bowled in that over and gave only 16 runs. Akshar Patel 29 and Ripal Patel
remained not out with 11 runs.
In the previous over, Natarajan bowled real yorkers and gave only 9 runs,
which damaged the chances of Delhi Capitals. Mayank Markande took 2
wickets, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 1, Akeel Hossain 1, Natarajan 1, Abhishek Sharma
took 1 wicket among the Sunrisers bowlers.
